Kat Dunn grew up in London and has lived in Japan, Australia and France.

She has a BA in Japanese from SOAS and an MA in English from Warwick. She’s written about mental health for Mind and The Guardian, and worked as a translator for Japanese television.

She is the author of Rottenheart, Hungerstone and Bitterthorn as well as the YA historical fantasy trilogy starting with Dangerous Remedy.

Hungerstone was a US national bestseller, an NPR and Bookriot Best Book of the Year, and was finalist in the Goodreads Choice Awards, the Lambda Literary Awards and the British Fantasy Awards.

Bitterthorn was nominated for a Carnegie and was a finalist for the Polari Prize and the Nero Book Award.
